What is a Commercial Flagpole?
Commercial flagpoles are made to resist high winds and heavy flags and be secure from theft. There are no constraints on the size of the flag. However, the flagpole must not exceed more than 4.6 meters above ground level. However, without planning consent, check with your local council to avoid making them uncomfortable with having an enormous pole without consent.
There are many options to acknowledge when it comes to choosing the right flagpole. Several finishes are available to the various types of mechanism, but there are various factors you must as you're selecting the best flagpole for your particular use.
Several different elements make up in-ground flagpoles. Some of the most critical aspects to examine as you're making your selection are:
- Raising and Lowering the Halyard - Rope
The flagpole tool includes cleat and halyard will either be located outside the pole (externally) or inside the pole (internally). External mechanisms usually work well and also for most homeowners. Several buyers prefer internal mechanisms due to more traffic or where there are commercial locations, as the passage to the flag can be adjusted with a locking door.
- Size and Height
Size and height is another factor to choose for a flagpole. In-ground flagpoles are sized in five-foot additions up to 50', increasing to 10' additions beyond that. Many residential flagpoles installed range between 15' and 25' in height, as per each location's right. Many times, some homeowners prefer larger sizes to install 40' poles in their front yards, but generally, it's advisable not to waste your home range.
- Element/Material
Aluminum or fiberglass are the common materials used for In-ground flagpoles. Usually, fiberglass can manage a much higher wind load and is often used near high wind locations and near the ocean. Aluminum poles are more notable and common metal poles best considered for commercial applications. The other material, steel is also common; Steel poles are strong but particularly heavy and demand much work and effort to install. Steel poles are generally used for giant flagpoles greater than 80' tall.
- Wind Speed Rating
As per the weather conditions, one may select the wind speed rating flag as per their location. People do wind-test with in-ground flagpoles and consider them to give you a sense of how they will handle wind speed while displaying a flag.
- Final Finish
We can see Aluminum flagpoles with a silver satin finish that is anodized with a protective color coating. Aluminum poles can also be powder coated in any paint color a client may prefer. We can find white color in Fiberglass poles which are also painted to specific colors.
