Commercial Flagpoles

There are various Commercial Flagpoles made in the U.S.A with Limited Lifetime Warranties offerings on the flagpole poles.

Commercial Flagpoles

The two basic categories of flagpoles are

  • External Halyard (rope is outside of the flagpole, tied off to a cleat) — Their ropes are made of diamond-braided polyester.
  • Internal Halyard flagpoles (rope or stainless steel line is inside the flagpole, the flag is raised or lowered with a winch or by hand and secured with a cam cleat). — You may find it in either wired polyester rope or stainless steel. They are a bunch of expensive lot as they have a cleaner look and come with added security.

Both styles are ideal; it only depends on getting the flag to come down to preference and funding.

Commercial flagpoles and parts

Clear anodized & satin finish: The flagpole is a satin-finished aluminum pole making it more durable.

Snaps: Snap hooks connect the halyard to the flag’s grommets. You can find them in nylon or zinc finishing.

Cleat: You find them in external halyard flagpoles as they work as a hook-type fastener on a flagpole’s side. Place them directly to a flagpole, a wall, or a sturdy place.

Nautical flagpole: In this flagpole, you can find yardarms and gaff.

Yardarm: It is a horizontally mounted, tapered pole attached to a vertical flagpole found in nautical applications.

Gaff: A rig is used on nautical flagpoles that advance from the flagpole and rise at an angle representing a ship’s mast.

Butt diameter: The width of the flagpole’s bottom helps the user decide if he should buy a flash collar or a shoe base.

Flash collar: It is an embellishing ring that runs on the ground, dividing the revealed and unexposed areas of the pole.

Shoe base: It gives an alternative mounting option to a flash collar that usually contains a set of anchoring bolts affixed to a slab of concrete.

Sectional flagpoles: They are not recommended for high-wind areas but can be dispersed to control damage to the flagpole and encompassing area.

Telescoping flagpoles: These come with a feature of quickly being shortened in case of turbulent weather times. Also, these make them a reasonable option for high-wind areas.
